1.Koh Yor
A natural attraction outside of Hat Yai, located on an island in the southern part of Songkhla Lake. It features restaurants, cafes, and various tourist spots, including houses, temples, and museums for visitors to explore. There are also a variety of OTOP products available for purchase. This Hat Yai destination is perfect for a leisurely drive to enjoy local food and pay respects at the temples.
2.Hat Yai Municipal Park
There’s so much to see and do here, you’ll need at least half a day to explore. The lake, lush landscape and flowerbeds occupy majority of the compound. You’ll also find a cable car, planetarium, Guan Yin Temple, King Rama V monument and Buddha statues in the vicinity.
3.Songkhla Old Town
An attraction outside of Hat Yai that tells the story of the city’s history as an important port in the past, with various ports connected to Songkhla Lake. It is a community that narrates the prosperity of the past related to maritime activities. There are unique buildings as well as long-standing restaurants that have been part of the community for many years
4.Samila Beach
While there are many myths and legends surrounding the golden mermaid statue that has become a symbol of Songkhla, there is a lot more to this beach beyond the icon. Locals and travellers come here to swim, have a picnic, or just to enjoy the soft sea breeze—a wonderful idyllic day in the sun
5.Songkhla Zoo
Songkhla Zoo is situated on hilltops on the outskirts of Songkhla City. There are many animals for visitors to see such as tigers, elephants, giraffes, seals, penguins and deers. The latest adition to the park is a large water park with a seven meter high water slide and a flowing river.
6.Ton Nga Chang Waterfall
if you’re looking to swim or soak in water, I recommend visiting this natural attraction in Hat Yai. It’s a waterfall with seven tiers, and at the first tier, there are food stalls for tourists, as well as equipment and clothing available for purchase. For those who enjoy more adventure, I suggest hiking further up to the higher tiers
7.Gimyong Market
It’s a very large market for souvenirs, offering almost everything from clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and electronics to many more items. Especially popular are the various snacks from both Thailand and abroad, which many people come to buy as gifts. This makes Kim Yong Market a bustling spot filled with many tourists, including Thais, Malaysians, Chinese, and Singaporeans. It’s safe to say this market is very lively.
